Obedience to God part 2
Obedience to God PART 2
In my first message we seen that Jesus conquered the devil through walking in obedience to God even until death and so accomplished God’s will.
Phil.2:8: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
He learned obedience by the things which He suffered.
Heb 5:8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;(KJV)
God has always worked through the concept of obedience even in the garden of Eden when man disobeyed God by eating of the forbidden tree. The will of God is the most powerful concept in the universe: Position yourselves in obedience to God and let his will come forth in and through your life which will give you the ultimate victory in Jesus name.
How do you obey God? God tells us in His Word that this is a learning process.
Hebrews 5:8 : Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;
9: and being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him.
You need to start somewhere IN ORDER FOR God to lead you, a ship at anchor can not be guided untill it leaves the shore.
1: Where you are, is where God placed you. You start to work with God where you are and as you are.
Obedience is a learning process according to the scriptures also by the things which we suffer. How He guides this ministry as we obey Him and how He causes us to stand for his Kingdom’s sake (while in the natural we could have fallen) is a learning and growing process that will never end.
This is what we call the process of the trying and development of your faith and Jesus is the author of this. Hebrews 12:2: Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.
The devil does not want you to enter into a walk of faith and obedience with God where you learn to depend on him and trust him and where His leadership in your life becomes more and more real to you.
1 Pet 1:7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:(KJV)
1 You must be yourselves that is how God made you. Do not copy others or try to do what someone else does. As you try to do the will of the Lord you can make mistakes but that is a part of the process: His power is changing you from glory to glory!
If you never try to obey the Lord and enter the battlefield, you never really develop and grow spiritually.
The way you think today you did not think three years ago, your mind is being renewed by God and He is changing you.
Romans 12:2
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.(KJV)
Therefore you can not look at mistakes you made in the past with your renewed mind, this is a trick of the devil, for you did not know at that time what you know today through His power which is working and growing in you.
We must learn from the past but can not dwell on the past for we can not turn the clock back. We must live today, at this moment because faith is NOW.
Obedience to God by doing His will in your life brings you into a victory position with Jesus over the spiritual forces and brings God’s protection upon your life.
Through your obedience others will be delivered and brought unto victory.
2:You must make a total commitment in your service to God and persevere. Your desire can ONLY be to make God’s will for your life your will.
Your commitment to God needs to be 100%, 99% is not acceptable and God’s Spirit will cause you to grow into this.
3: You must make your faith an act and be sure that what you are doing is the will and direction of the Holy Spirit.
The devil hates faith and obedience and he will surely do his part to make things get rough so that you can come to a point where you wonder how you are going to make it. At such a time he will throw his fiery darts (thoughts) to your mind and cause you to doubt wether you obeyed God or cause you to think that you made a mistake and that you are doing “things” on your own.
Finally he can cause you to become so discouraged that you give up.
It is at such a time that you will have to know beyond ANY doubt that you are in the faith, obeying and doing the will of God through your life so that you have power to persevere and stand indeed.
The Holy Spirit will always give you the inner witness and confirmation of this reality.
You will see “the Salvation of the Lord” for God will split open the Red Sea for you to cause you to stand and succeed in ministry for He will honor your faith and obedience to bring glory to His Name.
The children of Israel were freed from Egypt by God’s direction, they were stopped at the Red Sea and faced an impossibility but God opened the waters to remind them that only He has power to save and cause them to stand.
In our walk with God we will also be reminded at times through impossibilities that He indeed has power to make us stand, change circumstances and bring forth ministry as we keep our eyes on Jesus by faith!
4:You can not afford to walk out of a situation when the going gets rough!
God can use these circumstances to reveal his reality to you, teaching you to depend on him and bringing you closer to Him. When you give up in the midst of the battle, you will miss the things God wants to teach you and bring into your spirit. You must persevere in the situation until God sees you through! This will increase your faith and dependence on him, just like David fought a bear and a lion and see God’s hand deliver him before God placed him before Goliath.
This is not a time to be afraid but rather to be excited and rest in God.This is where you discover that only God can make you stand in ministry and that He is exactly doing that because you are operating in His will and by faith.
We must keep our eyes on Jesus and stay under his leadership knowing that He does not make mistakes and is indeed directing our path. He will build his church through the leadership of the Holy Spirit and use your life.
Hebrews 12:2
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. (KJV)
The “things” of God are not for sale in stores: through faith and by grace, each one will have to go through this, eternal values or earthly pleasures, you decide.
1 Sam 15:22
22 And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. (KJV)
